The Learning Center offers tutoring and resources to help you develop your English language skills and reach your potential. Our tutors can help you get more from your experience and achieve your language learning goals even faster.


Tutoring Services


There are two types of tutoring that provide useful, practical, and customized instruction in your English studies:

One-on-one/small group tutoring - work with a tutor individually or in a group of 2-3 students on any language learning goal. Services include:

  • • Language skills - conversational skills, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary
  • • Test preparation - TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and GMAT (Verbal section)
  • • College preparation - admission essays and resume writing


Group tutoring - work with a tutor and a group of students on your language skills:

  • • Conversation Practice Lab
  • • Pronunciation Practice Lab

Testing Services


The Learning Center offers comprehensive testing services, including language assessments to place incoming students into classes. English language assessments are offered at a variety of convenient times and campus locations. The Learning Center also offers makeup testing services. Students who missed a test may schedule an appointment to take a makeup test in the Learning Center. Instructor approval is required.

    Library


    Students can study independently in our library and discover our learning resources. Our library contains a collection of books at different reading levels, English as a Second Language and test preparation resources, newspapers, magazines, and practice worksheets. Computers are available for class assignments, research, and language practice.
